About Me

I'm a Company Director, Java coder, and member of several technical communities. I live in the South East of the UK, and I'm involved in several of projects which keep me out of trouble and help me pay the mortgage.

In the past I've been involved in a wide range of things, in the early and mid 90's I mainly worked on an interactive TV system from TwoWayTV and developing systems on Psion handhelds using SMS to do things like ticket bookings and sending and receiving Emails.

In the late 90s' I started working in London for Chase Manhattan bank, initially looking after their developement infrastructure in London, then moving on to looking after their DR facilities for Europe, and then becomming part of a global security architecture group. During this time I didn't leave my development roots behind and became involved in a number of projects including an attempt to port the Mozilla/Netscape browser to Java.

After the turn of the century I spend a few years working for a few start-ups doing a range of design, development, and management jobs working on high volume, high availability systems involved in the telecoms and financial sectors, and in 2005 ended up working for Reuters after they took over a company I had been working for.

At the end of 2005 I left the land of employed work and started working for myself, and at the end of 2006 I co-founded Enterprise Data Safe Limited based around a corporate password safe solution I had developed. Since then I've been responsible for all sales, development, and support activities within the company and have grown sales and profits without the need for VC or bank funding.

My current personal project is an Android Application Store, which, due to the imminent launch of the first Android based 'phone, is quite hectic, but once that calms down I'll be able to spend more time on some of my other projects.
