Red Steel (Wii)

This is was one of the Wii launch titles and unfortuntley suffers from some serious control problems and has some cut scenes which just leave you wanting to go and watch paint dry because it would be more interesting.

I've played a number of First Person Shooter (FPS) games using a variety of controllers, and the control system employed in this game is the most difficult and counter intuitive I've every come accross. It's not that the Wii can't be used for an FPS, Rayman Raving Rabbits shows that you can do it as long as you keep the controls clean and simple. Red Steel tries to do way too much with the controls and ends up in a mess. One example of this is the target tracking mode which seems to be an attempt to make up for how difficult it is to aim at something, shoot, and hit it.

This game could be interesting if you want to spend a good hour or two getting to grips with the control system, but if you're looking for an easy to get into Wii FPS then move along, theres nothing worth seeing here.
